Hospice care is about assisting patients who are nearing the end of their lives and providing support to their families.

SHC's Hospice nurses, volunteers and physicians focus on filling the patient's last days with as much physical, psychological and spiritual comfort as possible, usually in the patient's home. In addition to medical and nursing care, we offer a variety of support staff: social workers, home health aides, clergy, and bereavement support.

Medicare and most private insurance plans cover Hospice care, and the generosity of many donors and fundraising events have provided Hospice with funds to assist patients in need.
